Voices of the Valley Children's Vocal Ensemble

The Voices of the Valley is a traditional vocal ensemble for both male and female treble and changing male voices (cambiata). A variety of age-appropriate vocal training using both traditional and modern literature will be taught each term by choir director Steve Pace and assitant directors Amy Laney and Mindy Thompson.

Eligibility and Enrollment Process

Children ages 9 to 14 are elligible to participate in the Voices of the Valley vocal ensemble. An audition is required for acceptance into the choir. Auditions deal with basic factors such as pitch matching, steady beat, and other basic vocal aptitudes. Auditions are conducted without cost, however, space must be reserved at the desired audition time in advance. Reserve space for your child today by calling the Music Conservatory at 706.641.5124. Please note: Audition reservations should be made as soon as possible no later than two business days prior to the audition date desired. Early registration dates are encouraged.

Tuition and Payment of Fees

The fee for participating in the Voices of the Valley vocal ensemble is $95 per semester. Tuition is payable immediately following completion of a sucessful audition for the choir. The final deadline for payment of tuition for the fall semester of 2009 is Friday, September 11, 2009. VISA, MasterCard, check or cash are accepted. Payment of tuition by credit card may be accomplished over the phone or mailing instructions for tuition payments may be obtained by phoning the Music Conservatory at 706.641.5124.

Rehearsal & Performance Schedule [All rehearsals and performances take place at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts]

Rehearsals:  Mondays from 7:00 to 8:30pm September 14 - November 2, 2009.
Dress Rehearsal:  Monday, November 9th from 6:30-8:00pm
Concert Performance:  Tuesday, November 10th at 6:30pm

The concert will take place at Studio Theater in the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts. The concert will begin at 6:30pm. The doors open at 6:00pm and admission is free. Bring your 9-14 year olds and come hear this group perform. You'll be so glad you did!
