Music Conservatory
Inspire your child to develop that musical talent within or find your own inspiration through the Music Conservatory at Columbus State University. The Music Conservatory not only provides excellent instruction through private lessons and open enrollment classes but also encourages regular concert attendance for those enrolled in the private lessons program.
This exposure to professional level performances creates a powerful, lasting impression that can spark the imaginations of the young musicians, an experience that surpasses television, radio or other recorded mediums. All Music Conservatory private lesson students receive two free admissions (one student admission and one adult admission) to concerts that include a wide variety of solo, chamber music and large ensemble performances presented at the RiverCenter.
The audio file of Chopin's Fantasie Impromptu Op. 66 which began playing when you entered this web page was recorded from a live performance given by CSU Conservatory student, Jelani Jackson, the son of Dr. and Mrs. Floyd Jackson. Here's a comment from Dr. and Mrs. Jackson about the CSU Music Conservatory.
We would like to take this opportunity to commend the Music Conservatory at CSU for doing a great job in piano instruction and mentoring to young people. Our son has been with the conservatory for about eight years and he has progressively improved in scholarship and his skills in classical piano. It is obvious that he has developed beyond his years because of the excellent quality of teaching received at the conservatory. The well-equipped facilities and professional atmosphere offers the best environment for young students to grow to their potential. The service that the Music Conservatory provides is much needed in the local Columbus area. Thanks to the CSU Music Conservatory for helping our son to progress toward his goals. Take a bow!
